Verification of Identity service
In June 2020 the ACT began transitioning to an Electronic Conveyancing process as prescribed through the Electronic Conveyancing National Law. In preparation, changes are required for ACT property transactions, including the introduction of Verification of Identity (VOI) requirements for all mortgagors named on ACT mortgage documents.
Australia Post offers a Verification of Identity solution acting as an Identity Agent for conveyancing practitioners across Australia.
Members just need to enter some basic registration details at https://www.auspost.com.au/voi. Once that registration is received, the VOI team send out a contract for review. When that contract is returned, you will be issued a bespoke VOI form for your firm, and your access to the VOI portal will be confirmed.
The VOI portal gives you access to an in-person VOI service which allows your clients to verify their identity at more than 1,500 participating Post Offices nationwide. Once an identity check is completed, You'll receive an electronic confirmation and a verification of identity report for each check.
We help make completing an identity check for property transfers fast, easy and secure for your clients. Why ask your clients to complete their VOI check with Australia Post?
