FUNDRAISING

The Annual Trivia Night is more than just a night of friendly competition - it's one of our key events for raising funds for the 2025 Law Society charity, Roundabout Canberra

Roundabout Canberra believe every child deserves a safe start and every family deserves dignity. Powered by an incredible team of volunteers, they provide safe, high-quality, essential baby and children’s items to families in need. In 2024 alone, Roundabout Canberra supported almost 5,000 local children. Through strong partnerships with 140 social services, they ensure children and families receive the vital support they need. By taking care of essential material needs, Roundabout Canberra free up these services to focus on the broader challenges families face—helping to create a stronger, more supported community. If you are unable to attend any of our fundraising events and would still like to donate to Roundabout Canberra you can so via their website here.

There will be multiple opportunities to support the charity throughout the night, including several prizes to be raffled off, donated by some generous local businesses, including;

If your firm would like to donate a prize to the raffle, please contact events@actlawsociety.asn.au

Leo Cussen Centre for Law is Australia’s leading centre of excellence for Practical Legal Training (PLT) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for entry-level lawyers through to senior legal practitioners. The purpose is to provide high quality education, training and professional development to strengthen and support the administration of justice and the legal system.

Leo Cussen’s PLT graduates are highly sought-after by employers across Australia. Unique to the PLT program is the simulated law firm environment, a very practical way in which our program is taught. This simulated approach enables graduates to run their own files with the support of practising lawyers serving as their mentors. This in-depth approach ensures graduates understand all aspects of running a legal matter from beginning to end, preparing them for a career in law.

Leo Cussen employs practising lawyers to mentor and teach in our program, working closely with graduates in the same way as a supervisor does in practice.

We welcome the profession to assess and provide feedback on practical tasks undertaken as part of the program, these include activities such as advocacy, client interviewing, ethics discussions and will signings.

If you would like to know more about PLT and CPD at Leo Cussen, or to become involved – contact Head of Education Delivery- Territories and Lawyer, Tiffany Long at tlong@leocussen.edu.au.
